Screen time and children: How to guide your child
We have all seen the movie, “The Dove” or other movies on the excess of screen time in kids.
Figaro brings you an excellent article introducing the four stages where you can guide your child’s screen time.
#1. Children are more interested in video games than in engaging in productive and analytical activities.
As we said earlier in this article, our children are bored to death. This lack of active engagement in the world can cause their attention span to increase.
This is where video games come in. What’s important here is that what if your children spend their time playing video games but do not engage in active and productive activities.
For most kids who spend their day reading, playing games is a waste of time.
#2. Children would be on their cell phones.
Cell phones are not only for the youth but they are everywhere which is convenient. This makes children glued to their phones.
Nowadays, people rely more on their phones to make a connection than with their family members. So it is best to avoid giving children cell phones and teach them to be connected with others.
#3. Children would be binge-watching programs on mobile screens.
This would lead them to spend too much time looking at screens without engaging in active activities.
Some kids watch a lot of tv and never engage in the interesting topics on the TVs.
#4. Children would not give up junk food, sex, or alcohol.
This would lead them to focus their energy on entertainment or addiction.
If your children make a decision to spend time on a computer and most of the time not engaged in meaningful and productive activities and still, spend too much time engaging in unhealthy activities then you will have serious problems.
Lastly, if you don’t think that your children would be watching a lot of tvs and they spend their time on a computer, now you might want to do the research.
You might want to study more about why they are watching TV and why they are going to the movie theater. Sometimes we forget that the image of watching films is not what their pictures would be.
With this, you will be able to have a true impact.
By following this, you will be able to formulate a strategy to guide your children to have much better development.
